Many students simply study study study.
Many students coming out of school have simply done what the instructor told them to do; none of them are given a chance to show any initiative; many of them cannot do anything without specific instructions.

I agree so much with what you say, I teach on level 5-6 (just before university entrance) and find students need so much encouragement to think out of the box. |

It is my observation that prior to starting school most children exhibit show an abundance of initiative. Sadly, as they enter school, that initiative is stifled. They are encouraged to wait on instruction. When they move on to University and work somehow we then expect them to suddenly regain that inquisitive nature. We need to rethink our approach to education. |
